Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups corn Chex cereal
  • cups itty bitty pretzel twists Snyder's of Hanover
  • cups dry roasted peanuts
  • 2 cups of red and green M&M candies
  • 12 oz. vanilla almond bark or 1 bag of white chocolate chips plus ¼ to ½ teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil if necessary
  • 2 tablespoons red and green jimmies optional

Instructions

  • MEASURE out all the ingredients.
  • BREAK up the pretzels, if they are larger than the Chex cereal squares.
  • POUR the Chex cereal, pretzels, and peanuts into a large bowl. Stir.
  • MELT the white chocolate in the microwave. Place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir. If necessary, continue to microwave in 10-second increments until the chocolate is almost melted. Remove from microwave and stir until melted. If the chocolate is not smooth, add ¼ to ½ teaspoon of shortening and stir until the chocolate is smooth.
  • POUR ½ of the melted chocolate into the dry mix. Stir. Pour the remaining melted chocolate in and stir thoroughly until everything is coated.
  • SPRINKLE in the jimmies (optional) and stir.
  • LINE a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the Chex mix onto the cookie sheet. Spread it as thin as possible. Allow the chocolate to harden (15-30 minutes, depending on your kitchen temperature).
  • BREAK up the Chex mix pieces. Pour into a large bowl.
  • ADD the M&M's to the mix and stir.
  • SERVE immediately in festive cups.
