1½cupsitty bitty pretzel twistsSnyder's of Hanover
1½cupsdry roasted peanuts
2cupsof red and green M&M candies
12oz.vanilla almond bark or 1 bag of white chocolate chipsplus ¼ to ½ teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil if necessary
2tablespoonsred and green jimmiesoptional
Instructions
MEASURE out all the ingredients.
BREAK up the pretzels, if they are larger than the Chex cereal squares.
POUR the Chex cereal, pretzels, and peanuts into a large bowl. Stir.
MELT the white chocolate in the microwave. Place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir. If necessary, continue to microwave in 10-second increments until the chocolate is almost melted. Remove from microwave and stir until melted. If the chocolate is not smooth, add ¼ to ½ teaspoon of shortening and stir until the chocolate is smooth.
POUR ½ of the melted chocolate into the dry mix. Stir. Pour the remaining melted chocolate in and stir thoroughly until everything is coated.
SPRINKLE in the jimmies (optional) and stir.
LINE a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the Chex mix onto the cookie sheet. Spread it as thin as possible. Allow the chocolate to harden (15-30 minutes, depending on your kitchen temperature).
BREAK up the Chex mix pieces. Pour into a large bowl.
